Relationship Education
Within an Islamic Framework

Structured Course for
Year 10s & 11s

The age group this course is suitable for is 15+.

The course is delivered via presentations and easy to follow.

Learning through discussions and Q & A will be crucial to understanding the concepts.

This course is once a week on Tuesdays at 4.45pm to 5.45pm for 20 weeks.

There will be breaks for half and end of term holidays.

The aim of this course is to equip young Muslim men to understand and navigate the challenges and realities of relationships and associated issues, such as alcohol, drugs & online safety.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN

ONLINE MEDIA
Criminal consequences of viewing and sharing indecent images
Rights, responsibilities and opportunities online
Misinformation, disinformation and cybercrime
Dangers of Pornography

INTIMATE RELATIONS
Characteristics of healthy intimate relationships health
Sexually transmitted diseases including HIV, AIDS, STI’s and STD’s
Pregnancy facts including miscarriage and contraception
Alcohol and drugs and their effect on risky sexual behaviour

SAFETY FIRST
Violent and criminal behaviour in relationships
Sexual harassment
Concepts and laws relating to sexual consent, sexual exploitation, grooming and rape
Concepts and laws regarding coercion and forced marriage







OBJECTIVES & OUTCOMES

To help students to care about other people, to be capable of forming constructive healthy relationships and to accept responsibility for the welfare of others.

To understand that there are morally, ethically and legally acceptable forms of behaviour.

To deliver factual information relating to healthy relationships and advice for life.

INSTRUCTOR

Waseem
Ahmed

A devoted teacher of the Islamic sciences, Shaykh Waseem grew up in Sheffield, UK. In his late teens he started studying Arabic and travelled to Damascus to further his studies in 2005.



After studying various books with several Islamic scholars he returned to the UK in 2012 to disseminate the Islamic tradition he was taught by his teachers.



He combines a traditional education with his experience and understanding of the contemporary challenges Muslim face. He is invested in helping, guiding and building confidence of his students to practice Islam and follow the noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
